7 Ways to Find the Best Deals Online

Online searches for coupons and discounts have increased significantly over the last year. With the economic recession in 2008, retailers across the country realized that it pays to save people money. If you don't find the deal, don't get too upset. Look at the discount as a prize to those who took the time, visited multiple sites and found a deal that worked for them. Know that sometimes with shipping costs and extra time spent, online is not always the best way to save. However, if you know the sites and avenues to check, you will become at least moderately good at checking for deals before you deal the check. :-)

1) Coupon Sites: These deal-portals are great venues for people and vendors to post deals for online shoppers. Check big sites like Retailmenot.com, Couponmountain.com, tjoos.com and deallocker.com. There are many out there.

2) Google Search: Search for your product on Google with the words "coupon" or "promo code". You will likely find the sites listed above with a deal you didn't know existed. An example would be "kohls promo code".

3) Check Ads: Retailers pay big bucks to advertise on search engines and websites. Due to increased popularity, the competition alone tends to drive the price down. But you have to go through the ad to get the lower price for it may be on a hidden page or special link that sends you to the discount.

4) Discount Forums: Slickdeals.net and Fatwallet.com have great deals posted by people who have a coupon, know where a coupon/special is, or even exclusive offers from advertisers.

5) Website Email List: A lot of retailers give a coupon upon signing up for email. Simply visit their website to see if you can sign up and get a coupon right away. If not, you will probably get one relatively quickly.

6) Amazon.com: Just when you think you've found the BEST price for something, check Amazon.com. They offer some really good deals on a wide range of products you would never even think to check for. (You can always check there first if you prefer their service but remember the sellers can be questionable at times when it comes to quality and deliverability).

7) The Social Network: No not the movie, the actual social network. Big retailers, and now even smaller ones, have a significant presence on Facebook, Twitter and depending on the business, Foursquare. Try finding the store you like on one of these sites to see if they are offering any promotion or coupon exclusive to fans.

Traffic School Coupons and Facebook

Facebook is soaring in popularity. Most huge retail sites have a page on facebook that you can become a fan of. Sometimes it can be redundant, but for those who spend A LOT of time on the social networking site, having a link or updates to one of your favorite shopping portals could be a good way to keep you in the loop.

So what about Traffic School Coupons and Facebook? Most people don't care about traffic school until they have to take it. And most people shopping for coupons don't necessarily think about traffic school. More like Target, Best Buy and Pizza Hut to name a few. But say there was a page on Facebook that updated you to traffic school coupons once they became available in your area. Would you care? If it saved you $5-15 bucks off of a course that would in turn save you ticket points, I think you would.

So when in need, just visit this page or become a fan. And if there isn't a coupon for your state, just ask. You may be surprised at what deals, even for traffic school, you could get...

Printable Coupons

The site http://printable-coupons.blogspot.com offers great coupons, especially for retail purposes. It is updated quite frequently and you can either scroll down the home page to find popular recently updated stores or select from the left side navigation based on category.

I've already successfully used about 5 coupons from this site, and I just found it last week. So far the best coupon site I've found.

Notary Affiant Stamps Discount - Notary Supplies

I've run this special several times and it definitely seems to be popular, so I figured I'd post it for people to use. The discount is $5 off all affiant stamps, which for a notary is basically their acknowledgment, affidavit and oaths preprinted on a stamp so all the notary has to do is stamp and sign. They are pretty cool.

So click on the link below to get the discounted prices. You won't be able to get to this page through the website (www.notaryofamerica.com).

Car Insurance Discount - New York Defensive Driving Online

Well the time has finally arrived: An online course that gives all New Yorkers a MANDATORY 10% car insurance discount for 3 years. On top of that, it can reduce driving record points received within the last 18 months.

What's better, this is a course you can take every 3 years to maintain your discount. New York has in years past recorded some of the highest automobile insurance premiums, so a course like this is much deserved.

New York defensive driving has been available for years in the classroom, but a law was passed just recently this year to allow for an online version. It is the same course and time requirement, AND, there is no final exam. So what's a few hours to have a smaller car insurance bill, well, for as long as you like!

I wish Florida had this deal. :-( Regardless, the New York online defensive driving course should be available for registrations 05/18/2009.

Again, if you live in New York and pay car insurance, why wouldn't you sign up? To learn more, visit these sites. (If it is before 5/18/2009 they may still have yet to be updated).
